Printer Just Added Ink, Print Is Not Clear?

1. For inkjet printers, there may be two reasons:
– Ink cartridges have run out of ink.
– The printer has not been used for a long time or has been exposed to direct sunlight, leading to nozzle clogging.

Solution:
– Change the cartridge or refill the ink.
– If the cartridge is not empty, it may be concluded that the nozzle is clogged. Remove the cartridge (if the nozzle is not integrated with the printer, remove the nozzle separately). Soak the nozzle in warm water for a while, ensuring that the circuit board part does not get wet, as this can cause severe damage.

2. For dot matrix printers, the following reasons may apply:
– The print ribbon has been used for too long.
– The print head has accumulated too much dirt from not being cleaned for a long time.
– The print head has a broken needle.
– The print head drive circuit is faulty.

Solution:
– Adjust the spacing between the print head and the print roller.
– If the issue persists, replace the ribbon.
– If that doesn’t help, clean the print head.

Methods:
– Remove the two screws fixing the print head.
– Take out the print head and use a needle or small hook to remove dirt accumulated around the print head, typically fibers from the ribbon.
– Apply a few drops of instrument oil to the back of the print head where the needles are visible to clean up some of the dirt.
– Without loading the ribbon, run a few sheets of paper through the printer.
– Then reload the ribbon. This should solve the problem in most cases.
– If the print head has a broken needle or there are issues with the drive circuit, you will need to replace the print needle or the drive tube.
